Morning Prayer

Welcome St. Augustine Children's Choir
Morning Prayer

“He who sings, prays twice.”
- St. Augustine

The St. Augustine Children’s Choir are mostly, if not all, children attending faith formation classes in the parish and in the surrounding community. Children aged 7-16 are admitted to the Children’s Choir. Membership is by audition only and limited to forty children. The choir regularly sings at the eleven o’clock Mass every Sunday they also sing for liturgical, para-liturgical, and social events in the parish and the community.

How We Work

We are a musical family, and children and parents treat each other as such. We teach our children to support one another instead of being competitive. Our songs are liturgical and when performing outside our Sunday masses – we perform songs that are value oriented, where the children share positive, uplifting, and inspirational messages. We are non-profit with Parent Officers who give so much of their time and effort, as well as many awesome choir parents, each doing what they can in order to sustain the choir. While learning to work as a team, children also have opportunities to shine as soloists. The majority of our current members can step forward, and sing most solo parts during masses. We try to produce at least one musical showcase annually as their annual recital, where we usually give back at least 50% of our profit to St. Augustine Church.
